These Tastes of Mine: December 2010

Welcome

Hello Everyone! My name is Daiming Zhu, and I live in Sydney, Australia. I was born in China and, quite simply, I love food. I love making it, eating it and shooting it (with a camera of course!)

It may surprise you that I am only 14, with my whole life in front of me, but right now I want to be a chef when I grow up. I know it sounds cliche, but it's true. I've come to realise that a majority of these famous 'celebrity' chefs are males, and I wanna be just like them (not only because I'm also a guy, but because I want to share the same passion as they do). So a few years ago I started making and experimenting with food.

I started from those cakes that came in a packet, but eventually climbed my way up to a whole array of foods, mostly desserts.

In my view, desserts are the most elegant yet simplest course to make, it's just sweet, sweet, sweet! Savoury foods have such a complex variety of flavours and spices, but I do enjoy cooking pasta salads, and soups.

Aside from making recipes, I also love taking photos of the final product. It's not only because that way I can keep track of what I've made, but also because food is beautiful.

This blog is for me to document my creations, and also show you that anyone can create delicious masterpieces, whatever their age.
